Toastmasters International
Toastmasters International (TI) is the largest non-profit educational organization that teaches communication and leadership skills through a worldwide network of chartered clubs. The organization began in 1924, led by Dr. Ralph C. Smedley in Santa Ana, California. Dr. Smedley wanted to create an organization “to afford practice and training in the art of public speaking and in presiding over meetings, and to promote sociability and good fellowship among its members.”
Headquartered in Rancho Santa Margarita, California, the organization currently has over 220,000 members in more than 11,300 clubs in 90 countries. Since 1924, Toastmasters International has helped people of all backgrounds across the globe to become more confident as a leader and communicator.
TASC Toastmasters
TASC Toastmasters was charted September 29, 2000 as an open corporate club for TASC and has seen steady growth ever since. The club membership has included project managers, engineering professionals, contractors, realtors, sales representatives, community activists, entrepreneurs, school board members, fund raisers, retirees, students, caterers, pastor and a county sheriff deputy.
