Meeting Minutes –July 14, 2010 Executive Committee Meeting
1	Club Officer Training	Tom discussed the upcoming officer training that is being offered in the Northern VA area.  To obtain Distinguished Club status, the club must have 4 officers trained during this summer.
2	Schedule for Exec Comm Meetings	The committee agreed on the first Mondays of the month at 11am-12pm.  Every other month, the committee will try to meet in an alternate location (i.e., Starbucks).  The next meeting has been scheduled for August 1, 2010 @11am.
3	Smedley Award Membership Drive	Tom discussed to see if the club is interested in participating in this drive.  The goal is to get 5 new members in the time period of Aug. 1st  – September 30th.  The committee agreed that it was too soon to hold another open house since the last one was in June.
4	Distinguished Club Plan Status	Frank reviewed the club’s status to date and he feels that the club is on track to obtain distinguished club plan status this year.
5	TOTD Role	Frank wants to “pre-assign” the TOTD role for 6-8 weeks out.  TOTD will need to be made aware of the assignments 1-2 weeks in advance.
6	Mentoring Program	Mentoring program will be reinstated (per Frank).  This is needed to see where everyone is on their progress.
7	Guests	Frank would like Scott to follow up with guests to see if they are interested in becoming a member or visiting the club again.
8	Publicize Club	Adim is working on ideas to publicize the club.  He is having a conference call with other VP PR’s in the District to discuss ideas.  He is working on a common message and will send out to the committee for review.  Adim is looking for applicable short articles and tips on public speaking. Adim will also look on the TI website to see if there are any guidelines on advertising your club.
9	Financial Report	Current funds of $364.24 and 26 members, all members are in good standing (Phylisse King).
10	Cart for Club material	Grace is looking into buying a cart to replace the rolling suitcase.
